Brenda Shepard has an in-depth understanding and appreciation for media, especially social media platforms such as Twitter, Facebook, Pinterest and blogging. Through assisting with various events, with George Mason University’s Office of Admissions, Student Media and two student Conferences, she has been able to work within teams of individuals creating exciting and memorable experiences utilizing creativity and new technologies that are available.

Some of her previous experiences include internships at CNN’s “State of the Union” and “Reliable Sources,” and NBC’s “Meet the Press.” Her career goals include finding a way to make a positive change in her work environment as well as the community that she works in.

She is a graduate of George Mason University with a BA in Communication, concentrating in journalism. She has minors in both Global Affairs and Conflict Analysis and Resolution. During her four years at Mason, she was a staff writer for George Mason’s student newspaper, “Broadside,” and was an active Mason Ambassador for four years. Originally from Hampton, N.H., Brenda loves seafood and Boston sports teams.
